Petition to the Prime Minister A very troubling piece of legislation has recently been brought before the House of Commons. Bill C-75 proposes lightening the sentences on very serious crime, such as: participation in activity of a terrorist group, obstructing or violence to or arrest of officiating clergyman, punishment for infanticide, abduction of person under the age of 16, impaired driving causing bodily harm, and many others. A strong criminal justice system must put the rights of victims and communities before special treatment for perpetrators of violent crime. Therefore, we encourage you to sign a petition at the table in the foyer seeking to draw the Prime Minister’s attention to our concerns for this Bill.
Peoples Church Two-Pitch Games begin at 6:10 p.m. in Marthaville with the Grasshoppers facing the Sea Wolves and in Oil Springs the Owlz taking on the Captains. Then at 7:30 p.m. in Marthaville the Fisher Cats play the Voyagers while in Oil Springs the Fire Flies play the Rubber Ducks. All are welcome and encouraged to come cheer on the teams as they play. It’s just as much fun on the bleachers as on the field!
Library Notice We are blessed to have a wonderful library here at Peoples Church and are thrilled that so many are making good use of it. However, you are reminded that as good stewards of the items you borrow, you need to take good care of them and return them by the due date. If you need extra time to finish a book, please come to the library to renew it instead of letting it run overdue. Thank you for your consideration.
