We Believe in Christ. We Belong to Christ. We Serve Christ.
Bible Studies are held at the church throughout the week during most of the school year, and sometimes a summer study as well.
The following studies will be offered beginning January 8, 2019 and continue into April.
1 & 2 Timothy: Encouragement for Church Leaders
Timothy was a close associate of Paul who was facing problems within the church that he was leading in Ephesus. In these personal letters, Paul gives practical pastoral instruction to his protégé, highlighting godliness and holy living to help Timothy fulfill his calling and effectively carry out his important tasks in the church. "Let no one despise your youth," Paul encouraged, "but be an example to believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12).
Paul’s gentle encouragement in these letters challenges Timothy to persevere in his faith—a faith that might have been weakening under the pressure of the church and the persecution of the world. Paul’s godly counsel was helpful not only to Timothy, a first-century Christian leader, but is also helpful to each of us as believers today.
Anne Booy will lead this class on Tuesday mornings using the MacArthur Study Guide. The cost is $7 per book for advance sign-up.
Lord, Where Are You When Bad Things Happen?
You never dreamed it would happen to you. You cry for help...but God doesn't seem to hear. Why? Chaos, tragedies, broken relationships—how could a God who is all-powerful, all-wise, and all-loving allow these things? And what about the wars, disasters, and plagues tearing the world apart? If God really is who He says He is, how can He let these things happen? Why doesn't He do something?
In Lord, Where Are You When Bad Things Happen? we will look to the answers for these questions through the book of Habakkuk, helping you know God, understand Him, and love Him more fully.
This study will be led by Emily Anjema on Tuesday mornings using the book by Kay Arthur and corresponding videos. The cost of the book will be $15 if you sign up in advance.
