We Believe in Christ. We Belong to Christ. We Serve Christ.
Our Ministry of Women committee oversees the women's Bible studies, several women's events at the church through the year, and an occasional retreat. This ministry is dedicated to help and equip women to grow in their relationship with the Lord and with one another.
Bible Studies are held at the church throughout the week during most of the school year, and sometimes a summer study as well.
The following studies will be offered beginning September 11, 2018 and continue through late November or early December:
A Study of God’s Sovereignty
We all need rest. To have some understanding of election and sovereignty gives us that rest from struggling and striving. To gain some knowledge of sovereignty, we need to have a look at election, which we will do by looking into Romans 9.
Our main focus will be on gaining insight into God’s sovereignty and so we will study Isaiah 40, verse by verse.
Neither election nor sovereignty can be fully and completely grasped, but we will have an exciting time studying them from the Word of God.
Pat Freeman will lead this study on Tuesday mornings. There are no materials to purchase. Just bring your Bible and a pen.
Lord, Is It Warfare? Teach Me to Stand
Once you become a Christian, you enter a war zone. The problem is, you may not even realize it. Lord, Is It Warfare? will help to equip you to recognize and understand the spiritual warfare that is inevitable for those who follow the Lord Jesus Christ. You'll learn about the battle tactics and devices of your adversary, Satan. And you'll discover Scriptural ways to overcome the enemy by turning to Christ, who loves you and offers you all the strength, wisdom, and power you need for victory.
This 11-week study facilitated by Lyne Guthrie will take place Tuesday mornings using the book by Kay Arthur, as well as corresponding DVD messages.
The cost of the book is $15 and is available in the church office.
EVENING CLASS - Exodus: The Way Out
“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he [Jesus] interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” Luke 24:27
The second book of the Old Testament is a wonderful revelation of God’s redemptive work that points in such an exciting way to the work of Jesus. Besides having major themes like slavery, the Passover lamb, the exodus and a chosen people, it’s just a really good story! Exodus is a huge book, so we are going to look at the first half (Chapters 1-20) using just the Bible and some weekly questions. If you are new to Bible study or haven’t been out for a while, or if your Bible study skills feel a little out of practice, the book of Exodus is a great way to jump in. Come join us on Tuesday evenings from 7:00–8:30 as Joy Wilpstra leads this 12-week study
