We Believe in Christ. We Belong to Christ. We Serve Christ.
Our Ministry of Women committee oversees the women's Bible studies, several women's events at the church through the year, and an occasional retreat. This ministry is dedicated to help and equip women to grow in their relationship with the Lord and with one another.
Bible Studies are held at the church throughout the week during most of the school year, and sometimes a summer study as well. Our Winter 2020 studies are outlined below. Please prayerfully consider which study to participate in. All studies will take place on Tuesdays--two in the morning from 9:15-11:00 and one in the evening from 7:00-8:30.
The following studies will begin Tuesday, January 14, 2020:
It Starts at Home
Learn to confidently teach your children about God. In these busy, hectic days we take our kids to school, sports practices, games, music lessons and other activities to give them the best chance of success. But what if we’re missing the chance to teach them what matters most? We will explore biblical and tangible ways that parents can build a legacy of faith. In a grace-filled Christian home there is salvation; there is forgiveness; there is hope; genuine happiness; there is purpose, and there is power. Having a Christian home is something that can really be achieved, and it is something worth having. Through the study, It Starts at Home by Kurt and Olivia Bruner, and the book, The Most Important Place on Earth by Robert Wohlgemuth, we will learn what a Christian home looks like and how to build one. The cost of the book will be $12.
Emily Anjema will lead this study. Please sign up if you are planning to participate.
Acts 1-12: Be Dynamic
Anne Booy will lead a study on the book of Acts, chapters 1-12, using the Study Guide "Be Dynamic" by Warren Wiersbe. In the introduction Wiersbe states that even though there are some non-repeatable events in Acts, as well as some transitional happenings, the basic spiritual principles are the same today as when Peter and Paul ministered. This study on Acts will look at the birth of the church as well as the teaching to the new believers. The cost of the book will be $12.
Please sign up if you are planning to participate in this study in the New Year.
Joshua: The LORD Is My Salvation (Evening Study)
We will take 12 weeks to look at the first 11 chapters of Joshua, which recounts how the LORD Himself is the Way in to the Promised Land. We'll look at Joshua before the book of Joshua, at the relationship between Joshua and the Word of God, at the Israelites (who mostly behave, for a change!), at godly vs. ungodly fear, at God's wrath and why the Canaanite cities were devoted to destruction. Toss in some memorial stones, a hill of foreskins, the story of a prostitute, hidden gold, killer hailstones, the sun standing still, and those crafty Gibeonites...this is indeed a stellar plot line! Come join us in this study of the sixth book of the Old Testament as it casts a wonderful shadow forward to our salvation and rest in the second Joshua.
Joy Wilpstra will be teaching this class. There is no cost but you may want to bring a binder for the handouts. Please sign up if you plan to participate.
Please sign up for the study you plan to participate in so that the teachers can plan accordingly. Thank you.
